Escape Artist is a 5 piece Metalcore/Melodic Deathcore band out of Central Pennsylvania.
The band was formed in 2012 by guitarist, Tyler Kemper, and drummer, Brent Bastian. It started as a cover band named Backlock that soon adopted
guitarist, Gavin Jacobs, and vocalist, Chris Mincemoyer. The band was renamed to Ashes of Ra and took on a heavier approach to music with covers shifting from
mostly 70s-90s heavy metal covers, to metalcore and deathcore covers. In 2015 vocalist, Arron Mixell, was brought on board as current vocalist Chris Mincemoyer departs the band.
Shortly after the band was renamed to Escape Artist and adopted a sound bordering on metalcore and deathcore. In 2022 we recruited bassist Anthony Ferrentino to complete the 5 piece full band.
